Every year, The CrossFit Open rolls around, and we all get that familiar mix of excitement, nerves, and anticipation. But let’s get one thing straight—CrossFit Helix has never done The Open with the intention of chasing the CrossFit Games.
For us, it’s always been about something much bigger.
It’s about coming together as a community.
It’s about challenging ourselves in ways we didn’t think possible.
And, most importantly—it’s about having fun.
If you’ve been around for a while, you might remember when The Open was something we just showed up for because we loved CrossFit. Somewhere along the way, the pressure crept in—the scores, the leaderboards, the stress.
This year, we’re hitting the reset button. We’re getting back to why we fell in love with CrossFit in the first place.
So if you’ve been on the fence about signing up for The Open, this is your reminder: You belong here, and you should absolutely do it.
The Open: A Challenge for Everyone—Kids Included!
One of the best things about CrossFit? It meets you where you are.
That’s exactly how The Open works, too. It’s designed for everyone—whether you’ve been doing CrossFit for 10 years or 10 days.

🔹 Scaled? Perfect.
🔹 Need to modify even more? That works too.
The Open isn’t about being the fittest person in the gym. It’s about stepping up to your challenge, whatever that looks like.
Maybe it’s getting your first rep of a movement you’ve been working on.
Maybe it’s just finishing the workout without stopping.
Maybe it’s walking into the gym despite the butterflies in your stomach.
Every challenge is valid. Every win counts. And every effort is celebrated.
Again this year, we’re making sure the next generation of CrossFit athletes gets in on the fun, too!
🚀 Kids, Pre-Teens & Teens Take on The Open!
We love that we’re seeing more kids, pre-teens, and teens in the gym than ever before. And just like us, they deserve to experience the magic of The Open.
Each Friday night our young athletes will have their chance to throw down!
🕔 6:00 PM – Kids will take on an Open-inspired workout, modified to fit their age and skill level.
The exact format will depend on the week’s workout, attendance, and other logistics, but one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a blast!
Parents, family members, and friends—this is your chance to cheer on the next generation of athletes. Let’s make sure they feel the same support and energy that we do when we hit the floor!
More High-Fives. More Cheers. More “I Can’t Believe I Just Did That” Moments.
At CrossFit Helix, The Open is less about the leaderboard and more about the moments.
🎉 That moment when someone PRs a lift they never thought they could hit.

How We’re Running The Open at CrossFit Helix
We’re keeping things simple, stress-free, and FUN. Here’s what you need to know:
🔥 Friday Night Lights – The Best Night of the Week
Every Friday for three weeks, we’ll be throwing down together at Friday Night Lights. It’s going to be the most electric atmosphere of the year—a night of big energy, loud cheers, and unforgettable moments.
💥 Come anytime from 4:30pm on an take on the workout.
💥 If you’d like, you can have a fellow Helix member judge and count your reps. But you don’t have to!
💥 Stick around to cheer, celebrate, and soak in the energy.
Whether you’re doing the workout or just showing up to support—it’s going to be the highlight of the week.
💡 How It Works
✔️ Morning classes at 5:30 AM and 8:30 AM will run as usual.
✔️ Evening classes at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM will be replaced by Friday Night Lights.
✔️ We’ll warm you up as normal (albeit a little quicker than usual!) and jump in when it’s go-time.
✔️ Expect music, energy, and an atmosphere like no other.
Plus, at 6:00 PM, the kids take center stage!
Why You Should Show Up (Even If You’re Nervous)
We get it—doing The Open workouts can feel intimidating.
But here’s what you need to know:
✅ You don’t have to be “ready.” No one ever feels fully prepared. Just show up.
✅ You won’t be alone. You’ll have an entire community behind you.
✅ You might just surprise yourself. Seriously—some of the best moments in CrossFit happen when you step outside your comfort zone.
